Our Students

Chidwick School of Fine Woodworking draws a wide variety of students. Some are true
novices looking for some online education before really digging in. Some are intermediate-
level hobbyist woodworkers who are looking to take an intensive class to bump up their skills and finish a big project quickly. Some of our students are actually fellow teachers, particularly shop teachers looking for professional development. Some of our students need lots of direct instruction, some just need motivation and renewed inspiration, and some hang out with us just for the camaraderie and fun. Whatever your reason, we would love to have you join us. Here are a few comments from former students:

ANDY,
I LOVE MY ROCKER. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP. MY REGARDS TO ALL YOUR FAMILY.  I’LL STAY IN TOUCH.

Andy,
I wanted to thank you once again for a great experience, keeping me safe at the shop, showing me some new techniques and making me feel at home during my time away from home. I will miss having Tano and Elli around and lets not forget Sherry’s cooking.  Send my regards to your dad and Eric.  Also, a big hug for Fudge and Drake.  I decided to name my chair “MeThamorphosis: The transformation from Flat to Fab”  I may use caps for the “M” and the “T” because it was done in Montana.  Best wishes in your future classes and hope I can repeat the experience in the future.
Again, thank you for an awesome experience…
Guillermo

Hi Andy,

I finished sanding the chair on Saturday with the help of my granddaughter.  I’m going to put the 1st coat of finish on tonight.  I should have it complete by the weekend and will send pics.  My family fights over who will sit in it.  It’s been called “grandpa’s” chair so that is the name.

Please feel free to give anyone interested in your class my email or cell phone #.  I am more than happy to give you and your talents a very positive recommendation.  Hope all is well with your family.

 Happy Holidays

 Tim

Andy,

Thank-you for staying for the impromptu class at the K.C. woodworking show. Organic joinery…it will inspire me as I “create” my rustic furniture.  Thanks for the energy and I hope to transfer that passion to some of my work.
